Sophia Ruggieri was a wonderful young woman who had just graduated from the University of Georgia and was about to start her first job. Although she had battled Type 1 from the age of 13, no one was expecting her at just 23 years old to pass away suddenly from complications from Diabetes. Sophia loved helping others and even volunteered at a special camp called Camp Kudzu.  Founded 25 years ago, Camp Kudzu is a fantastic camp for kids and young adults battling this debilitating diseases.   All proceeds from Sophia’s Summer Stroll will help fund campers who want to attend Camp Kudzu, as well as provide equipment and medical supplies for kids battling Type 1 diabetes. Scholarships will also be awarded through our fundraising efforts.
